Terrorism a global menace: FBI chief
New Delhi: Chief of USA’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Robert Mueller today said all countries in the world should bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai atrocity to justice and condemned the attacks on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore. Muellar opined that terrorism was not a local, but a global issue. He also met Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram to discuss security and counter terrorism measures with the US assistance.
Latter in the evening, he called NSA M.K. Narayanan and Intelligence Bureau chief Rajiv Mathur. The agenda was greater sharing of intelligence between the agencies to prevent terror attacks in the future. “Needless to say, the topic of our discussions was terrorism around the world, most particularly the Mumbai attack, in which 170 persons were killed, including six Americans,” Mueller told reporters here. — TNS
