I am forwarding a copy of my complaint sent to the Chief Electoral officer cum Advisor Chandigarh on the phone tapping issue. I have also spoken to the Advisor telephonically and he has assured me of appropriate action. I would request the media people to ask the DGP Punjab to allow you to visit the 5th floor of the Punjab Police Headquaters sector 9 Chandigarh for physical verification of the Phone tapping room.

Subject: - Illegal Tapping of important telephones being undertaken by Punjab Police at Police Headquarters sector – 9 Chandigarh on 5th floor of the building in a hall under the supervision of a DSP level officer.

Sir,
As stated above the Punjab Police acting under political orders is indulging in illegal tapping of telephones of political opponents particularly Congress leaders including that of mine. This tapping of conversation is being done under verbal orders of Sh. Sukhbir Singh Badal Dy. CM who holds the Home department as well. This is being conducted under the supervision of one DSP on the 5th floor of the police Headquarters building in sector-9 Chandigarh. A sign of out of bounds is pasted outside the room.
This illegal act of the Punjab Police amounts to violate the privacy of citizens including mine as I reside in H.NO-6 Sector -5 Chandigarh. This is violation of the model code of conduct. Kindly take necessary action against those guilty.
