ABS celebrated Basant Panchmi with Blind School students


Chandigarh, 2 February, 2009

Aryans Business School (ABS) celebrated Basant Panchmi with the students of "Institute for the Blind", Sector–26, Chandigarh today. The festival was celebrated with full vivacity and festivity to mark the end of the winters. The students enjoyed flying the kites on the occasion. Yellow Kesar halwa, a dish specific to the occasion was also distributed among all present. The students presented a cultural program in which they sang a welcome song. Thereafter, an attractive rangoli was made with yellow colour. The function was graced by Mr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, ABS and Mr. K.R. Sood, Principal, Institute for the Blind.

Among present on the occasion were Prof. D. C. Kataria; Mrs. Rajni Kataria; Dr. Parveen Kataria, Principal, ABS; Paramjit Sujlana, Director, Placements & Corporate Affairs, ABS; Ramandeep Sidhu, Manu Kataria.

It is to be mentioned here that 5th day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of Magh is the day of Basant Panchmi. This Panchmi is also known as Saraswati Day as it is believed that this day is Saraswati's birthday. Yellow color is given special importance on this day. Sweetmeats of yellowish hues are exchanged with relatives and friends.
