BACKGROUND
Mr. Galib born in 1933 in the family of Sardar Bahadur Sardar Joginder Singh Gill of village Galib Kalan, a reknowned religious, social and political family of Punjab. Mr. Galib’s father was most respected personality of Distt. Ludhiana. Due to family background, the politics was in the blood of Mr. Galib from the childhood. Mr. Galib is known as a very kind hearted, soft spoken and cooperative nature person. He has the occasions to seek blessings on unaccountable time of Baba Nand Singh ji Kaleran and Sant Baba ji of Bhucho wale, revereded saints of Punjab
EARLY LIFE
Mr. Galib studied in his village Primary School, High School in Jagraon and Govt. Collage for Boys, Ludhiana, a premier institution of Northern Punjab, and during his student life, he joined the cooperative movement to uplift the condition of down trodden, weaker section of the society and peasants and remained/elected at the top posts of these organizations as ;

8. The Markfed, Chandigarh and active in the movement till toady.
ACTIVE POLITICS
Mr. Galib at the age of 34, elected as M.L.A in the year 1967 from Jagraon ( Distt. Ludhiana ) and played an impressive role.
He was elected Member of Lok Sabha from Ludhiana Parliamentary Constituency with a thumping majority in 1992 and again in 1999 with a very big record margin.

DEVELOPMENT WORK
Mr. Galib. Contributed more then 14 crore rupees from his discretionary funds during his terms as M.P. on repair, construction, renovation of roads, school/college buildings, dharamshalas, ponds, cremation grounds, boundary walls, stadiums, common places of every community of his constituency sports in the rural, semi urban and urban areas of the Distt. Ludhiana. He also participated mostly in all the sports functions in his constituency.
Mr. Galib also contributed funds for the renovation of Bar Room/Library of Distt. Bar associations Ludhiana, Distt. Sales Tax Ludhiana, New courts Bar, Jagraon Bar and others and mostly attended the functions of the above associations.
Mr. Galib nursed his constituency in a befitting manner. He played an impressive role for running the new trains, modernization of Ludhiana railway station, over bridge in the Ludhiana city, Main bridges over the rivers and canals in Ludhiana, main bridges over the rivers and canals in the rural and semi urban area of Ludhiana, extension of booking windows, computerized reservation, a number of new telephone exchanges in rural and urban area, 66 KV-132 KV power houses, new judicial complex, Lawyer’s chambers and many other projects for the development of constituency.
