Tewari accorded rousing reception in Jagaraon

 

 

LUDHIANA, June 6:(Dharamvir Nagpal)  Manish Tewari, the Member Parliament from Ludhiana and the national spokesperson of the Congress was today accorded a rousing reception at Jagaraon. This was his maiden visit to the town after getting elected to the parliament. Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLAs, Gurdeep Singh Bhaini and Darshan Singh Brar, senior party leader Pawan Dewan, panches, sarpanchs, local councilors, party workers and leaders.

Expressing his gratitude to the people of Jagaraon for reposing faith in his leadership, Tewari said, he will ensure that each and every promise he has made to the people would be fulfilled. He said, “earlier I came here with a promise and today I have come to fulfill those promises and make a new beginning”. He reiterated his promise that he would always be there for them in whatever way they needed his help.

He said, he took some time to come to his people in Jagaraon as he was called to Delhi for various engagements besides the oath taking ceremony. Moreover, he pointed out, the parliament was in session so he had to be there. But still he managed the two holidays of Saturday and Sunday to conduct a thanksgiving tour of the constituency.

Assuring people that he was with them and for them, he told them, “you have done your job by getting me elected to the parliament and now it is my responsibility to come up to  your expectations”. He reiterated that he is the representative of all the people of the constituency irrespective of their party affiliations and loyalties. He said, “I am for everybody, those who voted for me and those who did not vote for me, because a Member Parliament belongs to everybody as he is people’s representative”.

Tewari said, while he was aware of the problems and requirements of the people of the area, but he would always welcome ideas and suggestions which can help in improving their lot further. He sought the cooperation of everybody in ensuring proper development of the area. He said, he would ensure that maximum grants from the centre were sanctioned for the development of the area and its people.
