The repeated humiliations suffered by BJP Minister’s and MLA’s at the hands of Akali goon’s has become the order of the day. Probably the BJP Minister’s are now used to working under humiliating conditions and diktats of the Akali’s. I am sure even after the latest episode of Mr. Makkar abusing MK Kalia, the BJP Minister’s would resume work in a day or two under the same conditions and the same pay.

Earlier during the Panchayat elections Mr. Anil Joshi BJP MLA from Amritsar was brow beated by the Akali’s and his car broken but the BJP swallowed the insult with ease and continued to work as their second fiddle. The rank and file of BJP was treated shabbily and at par with the Congress Cadres during all PRI elections in the state but yet the BJP Minister’s in there lust to stick to their offices ignored all humiliation and victimization at the hand of the Akali’s.

Although needless to mention the present a Govt. headed by S. Prakash Singh Badal is solely dependent on the support of the 19 BJP MLA’s yet the party knows not how to command respect. All the views of the BJP related to the urban voters have been thoroughly ignored by the Badal Govt. as a result the BJP was completely wiped out of the urban areas during the just concluded Lok Sabha Elections.

Even the high command of the BJP has shown no concern for their cadres in Punjab as has been evident from their attitude. Although it is the worker’s at the grass root level that keep the party flag high but in the case of BJP the aspirations of the rank and file have been muzzled while allocating tickets. Take the case of allocation of 3 tickets in Punjab, the BJP high command nominated a cricketer from Amritsar, an actor from Gurdaspur and one bureaucrat from Hoshiarpur who all have no contribution to the party.

Therefore, the congress party urges the rank and file and the MLAs of BJP to rise in revolt and dislodge the anti-people and family lead Govt. from Punjab. In case they fail to act in accordance with the wishes of the electorate of Punjab it would be presumed that the BJP is a party of power hungry motley leaders and workers seeking to enjoy the spoils of power and have no faith in the democratic system and that they prefer humiliation and insult instead of self respect.
