According to an official release, the appointment of Mrs. Nirupama Rao was approved by he Appointment’s Committee of Cabinet. Mrs. Nirupama Rao of the 1973 Indian Foreign Service batch is at present India’s Ambassador in Beijing. The Committee has also approved the appointment of Mr. M.N. Parsad, IAS, as Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office on contract basis with effect from tomorrow.
