Digital Library in GHG Khalsa College, Sadhar

Ludhiana, 07.08.09: Taking a step further in the field of education, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, has set-up a Central Digital Library in its institution. The establishment of this library, worth three crores, has made GHG College, the first of its kind, affiliated with Panjab University to provide this opportunity to its students and staff. The other institutions in which such library exists are either university or Professional Education Institutions.

Principal of the college, Dr. Sawaranjit Singh Deol, giving details, regarding the inauguration of this library said that it will be done by Member Parliament Mr. Manish Tewari at a function which will be held on 8^th August in college premises at 11:00 AM. Dr. Deol, specifically mentioned that Manish Tewari being a people representative, intellectual, Supreme Court lawyer and being associated for long time with the issue related to education, has been chosen as chief guest for the coveted occasion. He has represented country in various international level seminars and debates on the various significant issues including education. Apart from that, he also belongs to a family of Educationist father Late Dr. V.N. Tewari, who whole-heartedly served Punjabi language, and mother Dr. Amrit Kaur Tewari, who had been National Chairperson of Indian Dental Association.

Dr. Deol also attributed the credit of the establishing this digital library to President of College Management Committee S. Manjit Singh Gill. He said that Gill has taken vital steps for the development of college. It is imperative to mention that this college was established in the year 1948 and the Management Committee of this seventeen faculty college, is also successfully running a Pharmacy College, a B. Ed. College and two schools.
