Mr. Manish Tewari, MP addressed the members of LMA on the topic "IMAGINING INDIA 2020"

LUDHIANA, Sept 5, 2009: "Nations should use its strengths to meet emerging challenges", says Manish Tewari, MP from Ludhiana and AICC spokesman at LMA "We should use our strengths to overcome the emerging challenges.

Democracy, Large intellectual base, substantial economic growth in the past, unity in diversity, strong agriculture base, strong international presence, fast paced industrial and infrastructural growth, etc are some of the major strengths of India which can be used to meet emerging challenges in the present times." said Manish Tewari, Member Parliament from Ludhiana Constituency and AICC spokesman while delivering lecture to the members of Ludhiana Management Association on September 4, 2009 Friday at Hotel Park Plaza, Ludhiana. The topic of the lecture was "Imagining India 2020". Mr.V.K. Goyal, President, LMA, Mr. J.R. Singal, Sr. Vice President, LMA, Mr. Sachit Jain, Vice President, LMA and Dr. K.N.S. Kang General Secretary LMA along with other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

While welcoming the guests and speaker, Dr. K.N.S. Kang, General Secretary LMA said that a vision is needed for any nation to become successful in future, a nation may see many ups and downs but to locate it on path of process a guidance and supervision of an eminent politician is needed which helps to make India a global power, a corruption free, a pollution free, crime free, slum free nation where the GDP growth is high and the distribution of income among its people is equal.

While delivering his address Mr. Tewari reviewed about the nations such as Japan and Germany which were bombarded but still they possess the inner instinct to emerge as super powers and rule the globe. During his lecture, he stressed more on the nation's civilization and how it evolves with time in totality with the past and present. Imagining India is a much diversified task, but taking past into consideration a bridge was tried to be made for its future vision. He said that the key foundations of this bridge were laid on the factors such as India's substantial growth as a nation in 62 years and the huge amount of untapped intellectual capabilities. Mr. Tewari further said that the most important foundation lies in the democracy of the nation which at times leads to the peaceful transition of power.

Mr. Tewari further said that the integrity of people where more than 1 billion people worshipping more than 3600000 gods and goddesses with different cultural backgrounds live under one roof and share the same piece of land named INDIA followed by the court of justice and the market system which in spite of many ups and downs try to stabilize the economy and helped to maintain a constant growth rate.

Mr. Manish Tewari also talked about the main challenges that are currently faced by India such as poverty, issue of lop sided employability and security of the nation. Mr. Tewari also said strong infrastructures, education, investment in agriculture are some of the measures to meet the challenges. The biggest challenge he focused on was the movement of the masses from rural areas to the urban cities which leads to the creation of urban slums which downsize the rate of economic growth.

While extending Presidential remarks Mr. V.K. Goyal, President, LMA said that if the youth like Mr. Tewari will be infused in the Indian politics in the years to come, no one can stop India from becoming the world's super power. He also informed that LMA has formed two committees i.e. city development committee and social issues committee to help the Ludhiana city get better.

Mr. Sachit Jain, Vice President, LMA thanked all the dignitaries and other members present on the occasion.
