Awareness of female foeticide and Drug Addiction among women. Chandigarh, Sept. 14: (Dharamvir Nagpal Paris) Citizens’ Awareness Group in collaboration with adult education unit organized Awareness generation programme for rural & poor women in Anganwari Building Sector 38-C, 1465, Burail. About 100-120 women participated in the programme. Citizens’ Awareness Group has been working on women empowerment, female foeticide, drug de-addiction & female literacy. The main objective of this workshop was to induce rural women to think of their children, local community who is taking drugs & doing a crime like female foeticide. Dr. Meena Sharma said that if we do not allow a baby give to have birth. How we can imagine the society in the coming years? Dr. Naresh Anand said that this is not the problem to find the drug addict but the main motive is how we can prevent the person to be a drug addict? Co-ordinator Tejinder Kaur also said that the rights of the girls & boys should be equal. In the absence of any one of them living circle cannot be completed and society cannot be formed.
