CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Thursday urged the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh to exempt the Cooperative Banks from the Income Tax and also advised the NABARD for revising its policy to raise the quantum of refinance and downsize the rate of interest on the refinance to the extent of 2.5% in the interest of the cooperative movement and ultimately to benefit the farmers of the state.
