New Delhi Feb 13: Deputy Chief Minister Punjab and Member of Parliament Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal led the delegation of SAD and BJP M.P's from Punjab and raised the three important issues directly hitting the common man and farmers of the country, during the question hours in the Parliament House today.
Mr.Sukhbir Singh Badal, demanded while raising these issues in the Parliament that the International prices of the crude oil had been drastically come down by 75% but Government of India has not reducing the prices of Petrol, Diesel and LPG gas and other items related with the Petroleum products by same ratio.
Mr.Badal also demanded an extension of Freight corridor up to Amritsar He said that Government of India has been building the 3300 kms. Freight corridor up to Ludhiana but ignoring the coming up main hubs of the Industry and International business of the Punjab i.e. Jalandhar and Amritsar cities. They demanded the freight corridor should build up to Amritsar it is very small length only adding 100 kms. More. It will play a major role in the development of the business and industry of the Punjab at the National and International level.
Mr.Badal also demanded that the Minimum Support prices of all the farmers' products be raised at par with the prices being given for import of these products. He said that there was no justification for paying our farmer less then Rs.1500 per quintal at which we were importing wheat.
He said that the policies of the Congress led Government was anti farmers and poor people of the country. He said that this had to change in order to make viable economic options for the farmers and the poor people.
The MP's of regional and national parties also joined these issues with Mr.Sukhbir Singh Badal in the Parliament. The other MP's who were present and supported while raising these issues in Parliament including Mr.Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Mr.Zora Singh Mann Mr. Saharanjit Singh Dhillon, Mr.Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Mr.Vinod Khanna.
