PRESS NOTE Sh. Manish Tewari, MP started tree plantation campaign in Ludhiana for pollution free environment Ludhiana, 13 July (Dharamvir Nagpal Chief news reporter Paris ) Lal Bahadur Shastri Social Forum (Regd.) an NGO organized a tree plantation drive wherein local Member of Parliament Manish Tewari, National Spokesperson AICC, started the campaign by planting trees. The initiative has been taken by the Lal Bahadur Shastri Social Forum (Regd.) and the campaign shall be further expanded throughout Ludhiana, the Manchester of India, to make the city pollution free. On this occasion, more than 200 plants of medicine, ornamental plants, samplings have been planted and distributed amongst many reputed persons to plant in different areas. Many other NGOs have also been motivated to adopt Tree Plantation Programmes in their localities. IN a press note released by the President Sushil Malhtora, General Secretary Dr. Shiv Gupta of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Social Forum, stated this motivation has been given by Tewari and this movement shall be further expanded, strengthened in all the wards of the city. Varinder Sukhija and Vinod Bhathla have been appointed organizers for Ward No. 45 for successful launch of this Tree Plantation Programme. A nearby Park Adjoining Ram Sharnam & Shamshan Ghat shall also be developed with active co-operation of the Municipal Corporation for which total plan of Rs. 20 lakh has been earmarked. The Chief Guest Mr. Manish Tewari, MP appreciated the move of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Social Forum for Green Revolution Tree Plantation Programmes which is must for the Ludhiana industrial centre to make it pollution free city and assured to extend his best co-operation from himself & the Municipal Corporation for the success of this movement and motivated every citizen to plant atleast one tree in the national interest. The Forum also honoured Mr. Manish Tewari, MP by presenting him an Award of Honour and also honoured Mr. Varinder Sukhija, Mr. Vinod Bathla, Pawan Dewan, Karnail Singh Litt, Neeraj Anand and Sunil Sharma for social services.
