Yashwant Sinha resigns as BJP Vice-President
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha has resigned as party Vice-President. Sinha has written a letter to BJP President Rajnath Singh questioning post-poll decisions.
PTI reports that party President Rajnath Singh has said that BJP leadership is united in analysing the defeat in the polls. Singh said party leaders should not formally and informally express views on internal matters of the party in public which may invite disciplinary action.
Meanwhile, BJP President Mr Rajnath Singh has said that he has not received any communication from senior party leader, Mr Yashwant Sinha, who resigned from all party posts following the setback in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Singh said the recent statements and interactions of some BJP leaders on various platforms appeared to have created an impression that the party leadership is in disarray. He said this is far from true. The BJP President said the party leadership stands united and is in the process of analysing the outcome of the election results.
Mr Rajnath Singh also made it clear that the party will not compromise with any indisciplinary activities at any level that negatively impact the image of the party.
