Citizens Awareness Group in collaboration with Social Welfare Department,Chandigarh Administration organised Republic Day Function and Save GirlChild at Aganwari Building, Near Police Station, Sector 56, Chandigarhtoday. Sh. Surinder Verma, Chairman Citizens Awareness Group recalled thesacrifices made by the great martyrs in the field of freedom struggle andDr. B.R. Amedkar for writing the Indian Constitution which has beendescribed as megna carta in the world. He advised the participants to joinhands and strengthen the nation. He also administrated oath to save the girlchild to all the participants present on the programme.Dr. Meena Sharma said that girl child is being celebrated to bring theproblems being faced by the her to center stage and to generate awareness onthe plight and rights of the girl child. This day will also reinforce ourcommitments to sensitize the society about the issues related to thedevelopment and empowerment of the girl child in the society.Mrs. Meetu executive secretary of Citizens Awareness Group proposed vote ofthanks and said that organization would continue to organize such nationalevents and honour dedicated and committed workers for such a Nobel cause.The organization will also honour those women who have or will have onlygirl child in the family. Aganwari workers and children participated in the cultural events and sangpatriotic songs which was appreciated by all & one. रोम। इटली की एक महिला ने एक साथ छह बच्चों को जन्म दिया है। इन बच्चों में चार लडकियां और दो लडके हैं। इटली की संवाद समिति के मुताबिक दक्षिणी नेपल्स के नजदीक स्थित बेनेवेनटो शहर में एक महिला ने आपरेशन से छह बच्चों को जन्म दिया है। इसके बाद मां और बच्चे दोनों ही स्वस्थ हैं, उसने बताया कि वर्ष 2003 के बाद पहली बार किसी महिला ने इतने बच्चों को एक साथ जन्म दिया है।
डाक्टरों ने बताया कि महिला ने केवल 29 सप्ताह के गर्भधारण के बाद ही इन बच्चों को जन्म दिया है। इन बच्चों का वजन 610 से 800 ग्राम के बीच है। इन बच्चों को सांस लेने में सहायक उपकरण लगाये गये हैं। डाक्टरो का मानना है कि एक साथ इतने बच्चों को जन्म देने के पीछे संभवतः महिला द्वारा गर्भधारण का इलाज कराया जाना है।

New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) The New South Wales Police Tuesday arrested a man involved in an alleged assault on an Indian permanent resident at Sydney's Coogee Beach and charged him with 'assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray', the Australian High Commission said in a statement.
'A court granted the person bail with conditions on 12 January. The matter is listed to appear before court on 24 February,' the statement said.
'Investigations are ongoing regarding any other individuals who may have been involved in the incident. The victim is being kept informed of developments by the New South Wales police.'
The 28-year-old victim, who has been living in Australia for more than a decade, claimed he was beaten up Monday by a group of locals on a beach in Sydney.
The victim, who refused to be named for safety reasons, said that he was kicked and punched by the group near Coogee beach.
Earlier this month, 21-year-old Nitin Garg, an accountancy graduate was killed by unidentified assailants in Melbourne while he was on his way to work, the first death in a slew of attacks on Indians in the last few months.
Early Saturday, another Indian was set ablaze as he parked his car at his home in Melbourne. He is being treated in hospital with 20 percent burns to his body and his condition has been described as 'not critical'.
