Jet announces 50% fare discount for economy class travellers

Mumbai: Private air-carrier Jet Airways on Sunday announced a 50 per cent discount on its total fare in economy class across all domestic flights.

The discount fares are inclusive of basic fare and fuel surcharge but is not inclusive of Airport Development Fee, User Development Fee and passenger service fee, a company release said here.

The offer is available on Jet Airways and its all-economy no-frills service, Jet Airways Konnect flights. But it does not include Jet Airways code share flights, the release said.

The sale of these special fares would be available between September 14-16, it said, adding travel should be availed by September 18.

"With these new low, limited-time fares, we hope to welcome travellers back aboard Jet Airways' and Jet Airways Konnect's extensive domestic services, which cover the length and breadth of the country between them," Jet Airways Chief Executive Officer, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said.

Chandigarh, Sept. 14: (Dharamvir Nagpal Paris) Citizens’ Awareness Group in collaboration with adult education unit organized Awareness generation programme for rural & poor women in Anganwari Building Sector 38-C, 1465, Burail. About 100-120 women participated in the programme. Citizens’ Awareness Group has been working on women empowerment, female foeticide, drug de-addiction & female literacy. The main objective of this workshop was to induce rural women to think of their children, local community who is taking drugs & doing a crime like female foeticide. Dr. Meena Sharma said that if we do not allow a baby give to have birth. How we can imagine the society in the coming years? Dr. Naresh Anand said that this is not the problem to find the drug addict but the main motive is how we can prevent the person to be a drug addict? Chandigarh (13th Sept. Dharamvir Ngapal Paris) Aryans Group of Institutes yesterday organized 3^rd cultural extravaganza “Rhythm”, at Rajasthan Bhawan, Sec-33 A, Chandigarh. Sh.R.C.Khurana, GM, Bank of India, Chandigarh Zone inaugurated the function. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Institutes presided over the function. Bismay (Orissa) was declared Mr. MBA and Nitika (Uttranchal) was declared Miss MBA from MBA. Ankush (Haryana) was declared Mr. BBA and Iram (Kashmir) was declared Miss BBA from BBA. Davinder and Jyoti was declared Mr. and Miss Personality.

The function commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest. Sh.R.C.Khurana, GM, Bank of India said that such events are necessary in the professional institutions as they instill confidence and sense of responsibility in the students.

The Beautiful “Naati” of Kullu under the leadership of Ravinder Vikram enthralled the audience. The audience was on their toes during the Punjabi dance under the leadership of Sukhbir. Virender Singh also presented an energetic solo dance Western group dance “Aanhu-Aanhu” by Nikhil & Group, “Giddha” by Shilpika & group and “Fusion” by Jyoti & others brought the audience to their toes

In what can be termed a classic example of mockery of law by influential persons holding important political positions I am attaching a copy of reply given to me by ADGP Security Punjab Police vide his letter No. 6205 D.D.S.B – 3 dated 27.08.09 under the RTI Act 2005.

According to the reply to my letter dated 3-07-09 in para 2, the SSP Kapurthala has stated that Bibi Jagir kaur is running two vehicles with her, PB 08 U 3447(Temp) and PB 08 Y 3346(Temp).

According to startling information provided by SSP Kapurthala in para 3, the gypsy jeep bearing No. PB 08 U 3347 which Bibi Jagir Kaur illegally misuses as her escort vehicle is actually the number of a scooter registered in the name of Sh. Surinder Kumar S/O Harbans Lal R/O Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar as per the record of Distict Transport Office. Similarly the number of her personal vehicle Ford Endeavour bearing No. PB 08 W 5553(Temp) has actually been allotted by Toyota company Jalandhar to an Innova vehicle on 23-05-08 to Vishal S/O Milkhi Ram R/O V. Talwandi Kuka P.O Maqsoodpur Tehsil Bholath Distt. Kapurthala.

According to para 4 of the letter SSP Kapurthala has instructed all heads of Police Stations in Distt. Kapurthala to immediately take action against the above stated two vehicles bearing red lights on entering Distt. Kapurthala.

It is extremely unfortunate that firstly an elected representative was provided wrong information by the then IGP Headquarters cum PIO Punjab Police, that Bibi Jagir Kaur does not use any vehicle with a red light atop then. I provided the Information Commission with photographic evidence showing misuse of red lights atop her vehicle by Bibi Jagir Kaur in the presence of DC and SSP Kapurthala dated 1-07-09. Secondly that being Chairperson of Distt. Planning Committee Kapurthala, Bibi Jagr Kaur daily visits her office set up near the office of SSP and DC Kapurthala, then why no action has been taken against her?

Lastly, I insist that now since the Police are aware of the illegal vehicles being run by Bibi Jagir Kaur, concrete criminal action under Section 420, 479, 482, 483 etc. be taken against her for misleading, cheating and maintaining vehicles with duplicate numbers. In case appropriate action in this matter is not taken, I would be left with no option but to approach the High Court of Punjab and Haryana.
